Every business is different. Some are large corporate entities, others are one person endeavors run from home – and in between are enterprises of all sizes. A good way to help financially protect your business interests is to tailor your commercial insurance. MA business owners have many different options when it comes to customizing insurance coverage.

Small business owners may find that their business can be best covered by a business owner’s policy (BOP). This is an off the shelf combination policy that usually includes property coverage, liability and some business income protection. However, you can add other forms of coverage that may not be included in the policy to help ensure that all elements of your business have adequate coverage.

Larger businesses may find it better to customize their coverage by having a number of different policies that reflect their business activities. Once the basics – property, vehicles, workers’ comp and general liability – are in place, there are many specific policies that could be added as necessary.

The best thing to do is to call and make an appointment with your agent so you can work together to create an appropriate combination of coverage for your commercial insurance. MA agents are well placed to give you the most up to date information about new insurance products so you can make an informed decision on the coverage that seems the best fit for your business.
